I have an update key for Windows 8 and would like to install it, however I have no disk or means to actually install.

I've tried using the upgrade assistant but it just tries to make me buy it again.

Can anyone tell me how I can install Windows without a disk?

You can, kind of, go to Settings, change PC settings, General, Remove everything and re install windows.

You will need the product key

Hope this helps :D

And yes I have done it!

I'm running Windows 7 atm.

Forgot to mention that.

EDIT: Guy at Microsoft sorted it for me with a special link.

A guy at Microsoft gave me a link you go to and it just asks for a product key and then creates bootable media for you.

Worked really well.

I asked me to put my w8 disc in when I have done this....
As it needed some files..

You probably somehow removed the install files using disc clean up or deleted the USD folder hidden in C: that contains the install files.

If you know you did neither by mistake, then i have no idea why you needed physical media to re-install Windows 8.
