I am in need a fresh instal of windows. Luckily I have windows stored on my SSD and the main bulk of my programs and files installed on a separate harddrives.

If i was to reinstall windows how can i have the programs installed on the harddrives still function?
Do i just make a back up of the current registry and copy it back when I have reinstaled windows?

or is there another easier method I am blind too?

Thanks

I don't think it's possible. Duplicating the registry is very unlikely to work as there will be all sorts of differences in the file system.

Probably worth moving to Windows section.

some games/programs will work and some will need a re install

you'll have to go into the program files and create a new shortcut for each programs exe
