I'd like to do reinstall Windows on my SSD, however, the bulk of my applications are on my D drive. I was wondering, is there anyway to backup the registry so I don't have to reinstall everything again?

start>run/search>regedit
and when that has loaded...
File>export

I wouldn't bother personally though, because you will still be stuck with a lot of crap in the registry you want to get rid of with a clean reinstall.
If you have a fast enough internet you would be better off just reinstalling every thing.

I would suggest that if you do this, that you only back up the registry entries of the applications but you might be better off just wiping them and reinstalling as there could still be issues with backing up and restoring the registry entries on a fresh install (and if something goes wrong, you'll probably have to do another reinstall).

There's too many entries to faff about with even if you export the registry and import there still could be a million and one wrong keys!

Format and re-install. Just don't install the things you don't need and before you know it you will be back to the start.
