Got somebody coming to look at my car tomorrow however it has been off the road for a while and I was meant to SORN the car and reclaim the tax while it was off road so I took it out, turns out in the mean time I couldn't be bothered and now it's been misplaced.

Does anybody know how I go about getting one re issued, got a DVLA office round the corner, I've currently got temporary insurance and it's still MOT'd for 9 months.

Do I just take the usual stuff? Insurance certificate and MOT?? Do I even need these? I've tried looking on the DVLA website but can't find anything.

Any help would be great as don't want to go there only to have to come back.

Thanks
Steve

IIRC you have to apply to the DVLA for a duplicate. There is a charge for this.
I think it used to be £15, but may have gone up since I had to do it last.

Post office should have the form you require, or just telephone DVLA.

Apply in person at your nearest Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) local office or by post.

Take or send:

* a completed V20 ‘Application for duplicate tax disc’
* registration certificate or new keeper supplement
* £7 fee (if needed)
* the original tax disc if you still have it
* a copy of the refund reject letter (if applicable)

Managed to get it sorted, filled out the form there and then and took my V5 cost me £7, also have somebody to come look at my car tonight now. Fingers crossed :)
