Have just started to get my HT set up on the go and have an Onkyo 605 amp and have just bought a REL Quake sub (not sure on this having read other threads).

The problem i am having is that the sub sounds like it is distorting a lot. Certain areas of movies sound very punchy (thought house was going to fall down during Blackhawk Down), but other bits just sound pooh.

Is there anything i can do to get around this problem? and yes, i am thinking of getting another sub and flogging off my Quake

Cheers

I set it to about 60Hz, personally.

You may also have the gain on the sub amp set too high?

Will make necessary adjustments when i get back on Fri.

Have also been on REL website and found very helpful set-up on there. Guess I will be going and getting a speakon cable to connect the High Level input as well

Cheers

Experiment with the positioning, check the crossover isn't needlessly high (I also use about 60Hz), and ensure you don't have it turned up too much - mine rarely goes above a quarter :)

I also bought a granite isolation platform, too, as it's on a first floor as opposed to a ground floor.
