Reliable 2.5" HDD ?

Have to replace my dads HDD as it's on it's way out and need to replace it with another 2.5" HDD *Mini HTPC* but I'm unsure which to go with, It doesn't need to be big, Over 250GB would be good but I need it to run cool and be reliable.

Any pointers are appreciated

Anything WD Black/Red.
Toshiba are worth a go too.
Steer clear of Seagate.

Could pick up a used Samsung SSD for the same sort of price range..
