Reliable/Fast 125cc

I am looking for a 125cc bike as i have yet to pass my test and could do with some wheels for the time being.

whats the best bike around the 125cc mark for under a grand, reliability is the main aspect, but if it looks good and can do over 60mph that would do me, but the cheaper the better.

ive been looking and i can get insurance (tpft) for £150 on most bikes, bar aprilia rs125 which is £240, fully comp being an extra tenner on both.

i know the aprilias can be a bit of a sausage to get parts for and have that good old italian reliability, but something like a cbr125 is surely not that bad?

how unreliable are these "fast" 125's?

right i re did it and the cbr125 is coming out the same as the rs125 w/ £500 excess for full comp and f&t, the cg125 is £120 f&t with £75 excess or £140 x £500 for full comp.

i think ill go for a cg125 unless someone can advise me otherwise, does anyone know of any 1st hand problems with these bikes? or things that tend to have problems?

ah a '93 then, thats what i have been looking at on ebay, i reckon it will go for about £500 but not many older examples that ake my fancy atm.

do you think it would be worth gettign a newer one (post 2005).
