Reliable places to buy keys

Including places like G2A, which at least one indie dev has said that if you're going to buy off marketplace key sites then just pirate the game as it doesn't cost them money.

But is that not just because they've put a game in a bundle and regretted bringing the price down across the board?

Not always.

For those sort of key sites (marketplace), I'll only go in for cheap stuff that has been in a bundle and I don't want the whole bundle. Normally talking £1-3, so that's a risk I'm willing to take.

A lot of the complaints seem like sour grapes from devs because bundle splitting lowers the price for the consumer. Sure there can be actual dodgy stuff going on, but no one calls for ebay or other marketplaces to be shut down because there's the same potential there, but people being able to offload keys from bundles they don't want or buying bulk bundles and splitting them, ooo no, can't be having it. Stinks of the same it's a "global marketplace" as tech support or even whole studios are moved around and it's fine, but if the consumer has a look at that global marketplace for cheaper games, it's bad.

For bigger stuff I stick to cdkeys + whatever official site is cheaper.

At least WRT to choice, CDKeys normally has the previous months pretty cheap.

Immortals of Aveum - 89p
Trepang 2 - £4.09
Total War Pharaoh Dynasties - don't sell it
Fabledom - £2.09 (I think this was actually cheaper)
Griftlands - 99p
Tales & Tactics - 79p
Naheulbeuk's Dungeon Master - 99p
My Little Univers - 99p
Nested Lands Alpha playtest - they don't have it, nor i dunno if they would.

The ones I use are CD Keys, Green Man Gaming and CJ's CD Keys. Never had an issue with any of those.

Have also bought off Kinguin some years ago and didn't have am issue there, but heard bad things about that one since so don't bother anymore.

Another vote for CDKeys, bought plenty from there over the years with no issues.

I'd avoid G2A/Kinguin and all the other stolen key fences. Bought a "key" from G2A once, ended up with a Steam account instead. They refused to help when I requested a refund, so I've probably had my account banned anyway due to doing a chargeback with Paypal!

I once bought one from G2A and regretted it. I was some sort of scam and I can't remember the name of the game but ended up with an old version of Bioshock. Was not impressed but at least got my money back in the end. I also bought my Grandson a game off Ebay for his Xbox, this too was a con as he needed a VPN to activate it and it was just a Key and not a DVD. Got my money back then too though, I had to fight for it and pretend I was very elderly and didn't understand what he was talking about.

CD Keys and Green Man Gaming are my go to’s as well (Green Man is typically the best place for Square Enix when on sale, typically a few £ cheaper than everywhere else). I also use allkeyshop to see what prices are like across all key sellers, and Steam DB to see what sale price history has been like for a game on Steam - as I’ll buy from if there not much cheaper elsewhere (for easy refunds if needed)

The only places go get genuine keys is from CDKeys and Greenman Gaming. Most other places are very shifty. Especially stay away from any site where you have to pay an extra few quid to "guarantee" the keys. This is proof enough they don't know where their keys come from. Most likely stolen credit cards.

I've used instant-gaming a few times and can vouch for the fact that, at least for the times I've used them, they've been fine.
