Hi,

I'm looking at getting an SSD for a new build PC. Thinking of either a 240GB-256GB or even a 480GB if the price is right.

Reliability is a key thing for me. I heard the Intel 520 SSD's were pretty damn solid, but reading this forum there's a lot of love for the Samsungs.

What do you think I should go for?

Thanks

Intel, Samsung and Crucial are solid choices.

I have a Samsung 830 which has been faultless. I expect the 840 series to be as good... they haven't been around as long to be sure, but I haven't heard of any issues yet.

samsung and crucial are the best. I woud suggest you to get the samsung 840 pro 256gb really fast and reliable.

I have had a Sandisk Extreme 240GB running since May last year, no glitches, faultless. Not such a large user base as Samsung or Crucial, but my feedback anyway.

crucial 256gb is on offer this week, the samsung 840 250gb (non pro) has £15 cashback offer

or you can go flat out on your wallet for the 840 256gb pro

Does the samsung 840's tell you the wear level in ssdlife, as the 830's dont?
