Relocating an outdoor tap?

Hey folks,

Our outdoor tap is at the side of the house, near the front door (which is a side entrance / alleyway type path to get to the house) The tap comes straight out the wall from the kitchen.

However, I am looking to get a hose pipe / reel and ideally wall mount it, but if I do it in it's current location it will block half the pathway and we will end up needing to walk past it sideways to get in the house, which is not good :D

Anyhow, I thought about relocating it to the back garden, I would need to run a pipe or whatever needed along the bottom of the house, what would be the best way about doing that, an extra long bit of hose connected to another tap at the other side? Plastic piping?

Thanks in advance :)

I wouldn't running a water pipe along the outside of the house without proper insulation. It will freeze and cause issues in winter. Why not just mount the reel where you want it and run a longer bit of house to the tap?
