It may not from any internal interference I guess, but it's at least neater than an in line filter

Ok I'll bite for you.

1. It's neater and tidier for starters, negating the requirement for filters throughout the house
2. xDSL filters can become faulty, a pre-filtered faceplate has better quality components and is more durable
3. VDSL faceplates have an improved RF filter for line stability
4. It's just a tenner

Those future issues could well be a faulty xDSL filter(s) or line stability issues.
