Hi Guys,

Looking for a bit of advise and whether it's actually worth doing? I have had my 118D Coupe M Sport for a while (2010), and was looking into having a remap done.

Went from a FN2 type R to this to say on fuel etc but want a little more poke, is it worth doing and if so is there any recommendations in or around the oxfordshire area?

Wanting to do this till the new typr r is out next year!

Thanks

Any modern turbo diesel is most certainly going to benefit from a proper map

Get it done properly by a company that knows what their doing

Recently had my taxi mapped and it went from 136 bhp to 195 it wasn't cheap as I had other things done at the same time dpf/egr removal but a night and day difference

You could try Jason at BW Chiptune, highly regarded within the BMW tuning circles from what I've read of them.

Edit: Beaten like a ginger stepchild :p

Remapping a 118D is even more pointless than buying a 118D in the first place.
Save your cash for the new CTR, or buy something with torque =P

not sure if serious .....

if its the 143 with nothing more than a map he would gain in excess of 40 horses and a massive lump of extra torque(map dependant)

I got the a 118d cause I changed job which involved more miles so the ctr was too much to run. So pointless to some but I did it to save money mate.

It is the 143 turbo diesel version of the 118d. Thanks for replies

I assume that's also increased your MPG which increases profit? :p

Funnily enough as long as your not ringing every last horsepower out of it the mpgs are better

Mainly down to the egr and dpf removal though showing a consistent gain of 6/7mpg on known runs

Not huge ilprovements but when you do 100k a year it's a huge saving

Wasn't sarcasm :p They often increase your MPG :)

Good point lol well ideally I'm keeping it till next summer when the new ctr is out then it's gone! Unless it's stupid money to get it! The 118 is a decent motor and cheap to run.

Just looking into this myself and although I'm not necessarily looking at a remap for warranty reasons, has anyone had any experience with plugin modules? Completely removable and subsequently untraceable by all accounts.

I friend of mine had one fitted and says good things about it:
