Remember real exclusives

Killzone, Forza 5, Titanfall, Infamous, Dead Rising etc and you can play games that will never see light on the Wii U

In terms of exclusives the Wiii U has been around for 2 years and the quantity of games available for it is a joke.. the only game I've enjoyed on it so far is Mario Kart.

I'd also question your wording by calling it next gen when it's still in the last gen as far as I'm concerned.

p.s. I also own PC, Wii U, PS4, Xbone and pretty much everything else..

Nintendo for me, kick out consistently great first party games. Playstation for everything else. If I had to just rely on Sony or MS for games I'd probably give it up. I suppose I stick with PS because the PSX was my first console after the SNES and thus it will always hold that special memory.

Super Mario 3D World, Mario Kart, Pikmin, Wonderful 101, Zombi U, Zelda Windwaker HD cant be played on anything else.

The only one out of your list I own is Killzone and graphics aside was pretty terrible. Mario Kart 8 and 3D World are all time classics. Admittedly, I'm basing my views on the rest on impressions and reviews of others.

I think most people would class the ps4, xbox one and wii u as current/next gen based on the time of release of the console. There is a fair gap in power between every console and also pc.

I have my PC which is capable of playing many multiplat games. If I were to recommend one console to supplement the PC it would have to be the WiiU. I think that is the ideal two platform setup for great gaming. Then if you have the spare cash grab a PS4.

Best overall features :
Ie OS, games, online functions and friends that play it, system hardware, controller (one of the main things!)

I only have a pc for gaming (other than the 360 which has been retired to the attic for ~3 years) but if I had enough gaming time to make it worthwhile getting a console to supplement the pc, it would have to be a Wii U.

There just aren't any exclusives on the x1 or ps4 which won't later appear on pc or, failing that, that there is an alternative available which is close enough to the experience to be satisfactory. Nintendo's games, on the other hand, are a bit different.

Is it just me who thinks people make more of a meal about "Controller means everything!" then is at all necessary. I find I adapt to any controller very quickly, I play my brothers XboxOne and I'm at home in minutes, switch to a PS4 and I'm completely fine.

All the controllers are so well designed that controller choice is irrelevant in my opinion...

All of which I didn't like apart from Mario Kart, all of the games I listed I would say are 10x better than those on the Wii U.

This is of course my opinion - based on buying and playing them not based on reviews.

At the end of the day it's all down to taste and maybe I'm just going off Nintendo stuff. I'd recommend a PS4 as an only console as it is the most powerful and will probably have the best exclusives (looks as Uncharted etc), maybe for a second console a Wii U could be an option as it is different but I could never recommend it as an only console.

Yes, the ps4 controller is a step up from the ps3 pad for sure however still quite small in the hands. xbox 360/xbox one feel great to me, as does a gamecube controller

The ps3 controller is terrible having spent 30 odd hours on Gta4 + similar again on MGS4 with it. The size is all wrong and dont get me started on the "triggers"... However the Dpad has always been good (however rarely used..)

Other notes of terrible controllers:
Dreamcast, I loved it at the time but held one in my loft a while back and my it hasn't aged well...
N64- As an 8 year old child holding this behemoth was slightly difficult and never felt like "it just fit" as I feel with the xbox one controller now...

I find the controller argument played up too much.

I personally think the xbox One and PlayStation 4 controllers are both pretty brilliant.

If you aren't interested in the exclusives then surely ps4 makes most sense for multi platform releases as it is simply more powerful than the xbone and most of the multi plats so far have run better on ps4.

I am relying on pc for multi-platform releases as they will usually look best on pc, and I can hook mine up to the TV and play using a controller.

If you are swayed by exclusives then the wii u is probably the best bet as it has a lot of excellent games that are only available on the u. After that I would say playstation normally has better exclusives thanmMicrosoft.

Spot on, I wouldn't have a Nintendo as my main console unless we got back to a PSX/N64 scenario (and even then I'd be greedy). I think PC and Wii U is the best combo atm.

What ever your friends have.

What RL friends at my age none of them have a ps/xbox or those that do don't play only RL person I have as a friend is a teenage son LOL

PS3 controller was terrible big hands and a few years old having something tiny hurt my hands something bad just glad I only played one ps3 game

I felt cheap and unfaithful when I moved back after a 7 year affair :eek:

i've actually owned both previous consoles from both sides.

this time i decided i'm only having one. the reliability of the previous console, plus the cost being higher and it being less powerful made it a no brainer which one to choose.

i was the first to get it too (all my mates never pre-order), so then all of them pretty much followed suit after i told them why i chose my current console.

I came back as I went thru 6 of the buggers was one expensive hobby ... And I wanted just a console that was more gaming than having a whole load of extras that I don't use .... Wil miss the odd game here and there but always like GT racing games :)

What good exclusive games are out right now on the ps4 and xbox one? Titanfall and Infamous?

In terms of exclusives there is no contest, Wii U is better than both combined.

I own a pc, ps4 and wii u btw.

Add pretty much any third party game to that exclusive list, as there pretty exclusively not coming to wii u

I typed some long reply about how the Wii U is awesome, then my browser decided to die. So yeah the Wii U is awesome.

But the last consoles to really have exclusives were PS2/Xbox?

Nothing what it was like back in the days of Nintendo/Sega though :)
