Remember when the Ti model used to be faster than the non TI?

Surely that can't be right, if the new higher vram 3070ti 16gb is the same variant as the 3070ti 8gb which is already faster than the OG 3070?

So 19.0Gbps GDDR6X isn't faster than 14.0Gbps GDDR6?

Also a 16GB option (which the standard 3070 doesn't have) is surely a benefit for performance over time?

Nvidia has an annoying tendency to change up their naming scheme any chance they can, usually, I suspect, in an attempt to confuse the market. If you compare the specs of the 3060 ti and the 3060, then compare the specs of the 3070 ti and 3070. Its fairly clear that Ti means very little. I'm just glad they haven't started branding things as "super" yet.

The 3070Ti is definitely one of the weakest Ti cards Nvidia has ever released.
When the first rumors hit of a 3070Ti card I was hoping for more ram and near stock 3080 speeds but that sadly did not happen.
