Remember when...

I never trusted OcUK back then, didn't think the design was corporate enough to be genuine.

They're still using Actinic (e-commerce type CMS) now though I think.

I too was the same however they forums were great. Lot's of useful advice on here though when I first built my PC. Only after building trust in the website by joining here I started to purchase from them.

Wouldn't go back now though.

I still remember signing up to ask advice about one of the pre-overclocked K7's OCUK used to do (the original NES cartridge style AMD Athlon chips that worked wonderfully well as space heaters).
IIRC it was a hot summer and most cases had very poor cooling at the time so one of the most common posts was "my system keeps crashing" to which one of the most common replies was "does it still crash if you take the side panel off and point a fan at it?" :p

The forums were rather different back then, UBB rather than VBB (IIRC), and ran on a kk6-2 or k6-3, the shop front was very basic (as can be seen in that pic), and at least for the first year or so they used to post the shipped order numbers in a zip file every day - with either Fatboy or Telescopi often including a quote, or joke in the file.

i thought they said all orders that had been made would have been honored. how much did you loose ?

MW

Its was a return. It was delivered faulty and i returned it. Never got any money back or no replies from them.
