Found this on the DVLA site. Might be of some interest to some people.

If you enter the reg and make of a car it will tell you when the last tax disc ran out on it was taken off the road. Not sure how far it goes back but its giving me dates from the 90's. My first car apparently lasted a few years after i had it. Also i noticed that a half decent car i once part exchanged was never taxed again:eek:

My first car was a Mini Clubman back in 1975 but the reg JEH 225K can't be traced.
In those days the MOT was wrote on normal A4 paper and my car was that bad he had to write 3 pages
He then rang the police up to tell them he'd told me not to drive the car home because it was one of the worst he'd ever seen.
I paid to be towed home and cried.
A couple of days later I took the risk and took it to another garage who passed it

Mine was used by my local BMW dealer or a member of staff there as a runabout for several months until the date of it's MOT when it was never retaxed after we traded it in there for all of £200.

It's amazing the amount of people who crash their first cars, I know very few people who haven't, I still drive like an idiot ragging my cars but I've never crashed once, makes me wonder...

Same as Huddy except mine was Poop brown. Fairly sure the wobbly wing was nothing to do with stereos, but a standard feature :D

I broke mine up for spares for the second one. Yup, I had two :D

I'm another whos first car had better still be in the carpark outside. :) My colleagues have been wondering when I'd get something thats doesn't lower the tone of the carpark so much, but the missus wants a house first. So for now the bright purple gaffer taped mondeo stays.

Mines still going, prolly because i still own it :D

My first car is sitting outside - Skoda Felicia, P reg.
Starting to get unwell but she just passed her MOT with no problems, fingers crossed she'll last 6 months and I can sell it to some student :)
