What else can be said.
However they did have an interview on tv earlier and do people not realise it's for all soldiers, not just ww1/2.

Lets not forget those who have died in current conflicts.

Indeed, it is for all who have lost there lives up until this very second as far as I'm concerned.

Millions of stories of sacrifice, bravery and courage. Past & present.
Someone like me can't even begin to imagine. I can only respect.

So grateful to all the service men who died protecting this great country and protecting others.

We shall never forget.

An even bigger turn out than last year at Harrogate Cenotaph. Quite emotional seeing one old soldier with medals pinned to his chest, marching past as we all applauded, with a tear ruinning down his cheek.

Just to add to the photos, a couple I took on a motorbike tour last month in Belgium and France.

I for one are grateful for everything all soldiers have done for us and are doing.

I will never forget what they have done for us.

My grandad died recently and I regret not making the time to see more of him in his last years. He was stationed in Aden during WWII although I do not know exactly what he did.

My dad's uncle died in WWI during the last days of the war - in an ammunition truck of all things. Direct hit from enemy artillery. My dad has only just received his war medals.

So very sad that generations were wiped out.

As a serving soldier myself it's threads like this one that restore my faith in mankind. I've never considered myself a "hero" in anything I've done, just someone doing his job. We should never forget the sacrifice that millions made for us so that we can live like we do today.

Thanks all.

My great uncle died on the Holland/Germany border in 1945. I never got to know him because he was killed fighting for the freedom of Europe. He's buried in Reichswald Forest War Cemetary in Germany. I visited a few years ago with my grandmother (his sister) and it's one of the most peaceful yet eery places I've ever been.

For my Great Grandad who fought in WW1, who passed away in 1993 aged 92

For my Grandad who fought in WW2, who was with us at the town gathering today, aged 86.

And for my younger brother aged 21 who has fought in Iraq and Afganistan.

Lest we forget.
