Remote access

My mum is having some issues with her computer, I would like to have a look at it for her, but we live 2hrs apart. Therefore remote access would seem ideal :

Can someone recommend me what (preferably free) software I should use to achieve this.

Install Team Viewer Free onto your machine and get your mum to download Quick Support.

Team Viewer here too. You don't have to install it. It will run standalone/portable once downloaded.

I was just about to raise a similar thread but I'll just add to this if I may. I have been using Logmein Free for a very long time now and have just been informed the free version is being withdrawn. I was going to ask if there was a free alternative for friends an family use.

It needs to be a tool for use across the Internet.

Another vote for Teamviewer. Been using it for a year or so to provide that good ol' family tech support.
