It's a 1999 Mitsubishi Carisma 1.8 GDI
The first problem is the remote no longer works, i tried changing the batter (battery was out for less than 2 secs), central locking still works and *** red light flashes on the remote, could it of lost the code somehow and how do you set the code?

On fords don't you turn the ignition on 8 times fast then press one of the remote buttons?

Is there a similar thing on Mitsubishi, or any ideas why it suddenly stopped working.

2nd eventually started to install the new sound system, got the head unit in, but having difficultly on what the sub box should be. I've asked on digital-car but Still no real awnsers, what size should the box be here's the info:

Also the head unit is a pioneer and has a lovely white light to the buttons, the clock in the dash has no back light, and so cannot be seen at night :(, is it possible to install 2 bright white led's behind the lcd clock would that work? one either side on the screen?

I have the Pioneer DEHP77MP headunit is there a hands free phone kit, one where you wire in the microphone to the car?
Can this head unit even do that?

Also anyone now where in the bulkhead are some holes to throw some power cables through to the cabin.

Thanks in advance :)

Easiest way is to get a sealed sub box, or make one. Needs to be 15 litres capacity inside it for best results. Try not to have parallel sides though.

how do you work out lliters what is the volume of one liter?

Space isn't a problem, which is better for bass range and definition? I'm not looking for all out bass I just want rock/metal music sound good, not bang my car around the local chav car park?

Are you sure the clock is not lit by stock and just knackered?

Even old 80's cars have lit clocks.

Havent taken it apart yet, but there's no sign of lights, I know the ones in ford aren't back lit well in there vans anyway.

can you just get replacement clocks from anywhere?

My mates Mk3 Fiesta clock is back lit, not very reliably but there is a light there, fitted as stock and does occasionally work.

The Mondeo clock is backlit too.

It may be worth taking it out and having a look :)

Could be a normal bulb instead of an LED and it just needs changing.

Any idea on how to get it out?
