£480 + I some times want to run it on my ipad, iphone and I ahve a PC and laptop so its about £800..

because I some times look at a friends server and frequently connect to two other peoples machines it wants me to buy it....
 
I think most will need some port forwarding of somekind, ive heard logmein is good only used it once though I just use RDP/teamviewer now depending on usage I need

Could you not just use the free one?

This. I use it regularly and isn't that expensive if you want to go Premium (they also have sales on the subscription every now and then). Haven't needed to mess around with router settings to get it to work, but it might just be using some ports I already forwarded for something else in the past.

I use logmein on a pretty big scale, roughly 150 machines on it that are all over the place.

Never once had to mess around with ports or anything.

And the iphone/ipad app, although pricey, is simply incredible.
