I'm trying to set up remote desktop, but in system properties under the remote tab I seem to be missing some options.

I have the checkbox for allow remote desktop whihc I have checked but on guides I have read on the internet they show more options under this such as "don't aloow connections to this computer", "allow connections from computers running and version of remote desktop" as seen in the third picture down

http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/turn-on-remote-desktop-in-windows-vista/

Any idea why I dont havw these options?

cheers

what version of xp you running mate? whats the account type (limited/admin) etc. some details pls!

Is network discovery switched on in the CP?

edit: last line of that guide mate

"Note: This will not work for Home editions of Windows Vista."

That is why you don't have those options. They clearly aren't a part of HP.

Relatively easy to get terminal services running on Home Premium though. Can't remember where I got the fix I used, but google and ye shall find.

There is a widely spreak hack to get RDC host working on Vista Home Premium. Just Google something like "remote desktop host vista home premium" and you will find it. I did it to my HTPC ages and its great, because the hack gives you concurrent sessions to, so I can have my HTPC playing TV while I login remotely as a different account and do some maintenance or copy stuff about.
