I have two clients computers (Both WinXP HE & one is a laptop) and need to be able to control one with the other. What "free" software is there?
Easy in Linux but i dont know where to look for a WinXP app.

Easy to setup, just make sure sure the correct ports are open on your router.

What is 'WinXP HE'? Do you mean Windows XP from the MSDN:AA? If so, it's going to be XP Professional and you could enable Remote Desktop.
