At a remote location many miles away, I have 4G Internet. Now and again the 4G router would lose connection and requires a reboot. Sometimes the CCTV NVR might need a reboot if it’s having remote login issues.

Is there a device that can be used to turn the 230v power of for that device on and off from your mobile phone etc using 4G on a different network or GSM text or phone call?

Bit of a pain to travel miles just to reboot the router etc.

Has anyone got any suggestions? Thanks

If it's quite frequent, you could buy a smart plug and set up scheduling to switch off/on every X hours.

Problem with relying on a secondary network is a) if it's better then you might as well switch over or b) if the signal is just as patchy on another network you might still run into the issue.

If you can handle it rebooting ever X hours, that might be your best failsafe choice.

Stuff built for WISPs can do this, but it's professional grade gear - e.g. https://www.tekview-solutions.com/powertxtduo.php. You can probably find a Chinese SMS controlled plug but who knows how reliable it would prove to be.

A lot of 4G routers can run watchdogs that will reboot themselves if pings to a target fail, or similar. I know the Teltonika ones can at least.
