Hi,

I've got to add a user to allowed MAC list on a router, trouble is I nor anyone who knows what to do can get to it locally so remote is the only option, I have the supposed remote IP address and the login details and its local adress. I tried RDC, and though IE with using the remote IP, Remote IP/192.168.1.1 but I can't seem to get it to respond. I can ping the remote IP address. Does anyone have any expierence or what order I have to enter the IP address?

in the router, WAN access would normaly have to be turned on first (localy) .. and then you would use ie to go to the internet IP of the reouter.

As far as I can gather the last person to setup the router was loggin in remotly so I will presume thats on till I can get hold of him. So if it's not loading then the details are wrong? No other way of getting it to show? :(

Remote connections could be locked to certain IP addresses. Also the remote admin port could have been changed.

Tried Telnet? or tried port scanning to see what ports are open?

When I need to connect to my router remotley, I just type my ip address into the address bar.

by default, most routers don't allow that as a security precaution. this is mine for example......

upload

i could allow it, but i need local access to configure it first.
