I guess this is a silly question really lol, good start.

Just got a new carpet in the living room, which is made of mainly wool.
We had some painting done and that was the only smell we could smell until today.

Now the carpet has quite a strong odor of its own, which I describe as being 'sheepy'
Now surprise there then (being sheep's wool lol)

So is there a way to speed up the dissipation of the odor or can I get some product?

Cheers,
Em

Bicarb and perfume basically does the same as shake and vac.

Is it a good idea to be scattering powder into a carpet? I doubt if a vac would get it all up. Besides, if nothing remained in the carpet it wouldn't continue to smell of the perfume in the powder (all smell is particulate).

This is GD, so:

My advice is to repaint your living room daily for the next month. After all, you have already proven that to be an effective way to mask the woollen smell.
