Remove tile backgrounds Win 10 Start

Is this possible? Just want the background to be transparent as I really hate the fact you have to have a coloured one!

Do you mean the tiles on the start menu? You can remove them all together if that's any use? Other than that i don't know as i just remove it when i install windows as i don't like tiles.

Like so, the background itself is transparent for me anyway?

Ah my mistake, I meant the icons that you have on the left with the blue backgrounds!

I've not found a way so far - it looks incredibly ugly

As per my mockup the other day it would look so much nicer without the coloured boxes around the icons:

Whoever works on the UI for MS must be blind.
