Remove Website From Google - To be added later

Hi there,

Can I do this?

What I wish to do is remove a website from Google, because I am totally changing the contents, and then add it back to Google later?

you can create a robots.txt file to get your site removed at the next time it's scanned, and then you could just remove the file/change the settings in it and it would be rescanned, however neither direction would be instantaneous

could you not set a holder page at the location while you change the stuff behind it?

can i ask what good this would be? if i was redesning my site it wouldn't bother me that the old stuff is listed on google as i know that the next scan and it will be upadted AFAIK.
cant seem no harm in having it on google?

i was going to say i couldnt see the point in it, just leave the old stuff up until you're ready to upload the new, but that is the way you'd do it, google for robots.txt and google and you'll come up with plenty of ways to remove stuff, i've removed all 2nd layer links from google for my website using it

Well i am totally changing the content of the site, its a totally different site, but I suppose it would have no harm in resubmitting it later, so ill keep it up.
