Hello,

I am installing an SSD into my computer and I need to remove Windows 7 off my hard drive and use the hard drive for programs etc.

How can I remove Windows off the HDD?

Regards

Well since you have the programs installed to windows in the HDD, and they have to be installed again to the SSD, best way is to do a format?

Well you can remove the SATA power and data cables from the HDD and connect the SSD to port 0 or 1 and make sure to use AHCI in bios and install windows first.
Then shut down the PC, connect the HDD to another SATA port, make sure boot order is set to SSD first and boot from windows in SSD.
Then you can format the HDD in windows it self. or like you said using a boot CD.
NTFS is best.
