If i have 2 drives setup in raid 1 from motherboard controller and plug the drive into a differemt system, is the data readable and seen just as a normal drive ?
It should be. I physically split a raid a while back and just used the spare as a backup of my first disk. It worked in an external caddy for me and I just sync the data every now and again.
cool thats pretty much all i wanted to know. Looking to get 2 x 1gbs in raid 1 and until i can afford a 3rd 1tb for an external backup im concerned if the motherboard was to die i'd loose all the data.
