OK i have a drive that is dying, its getting bad clusters all the time, so ive got a new one. The problem i have is i have 3 drives:

1 x boot drive (windows is on it)
1 x "system" drive (the one that is dying)
1 x new drive

Why has windows labelled this "system", i dont think i have anything on it that is todo with the system. I think it is because i used to use it as a paging file drive, but i turned that off (for that drive) now so is there likely to be something else?

Is there any way to get windows to tell me why it is considered "System" and then let me remove it without a problem?

im going to, i just wanted to know if there was any problem with removing a drive that windows considers a "system" drive. I personally dont think it is system but i don't know what casues windows to flag drives as such.

ill find out in 5 minutes, brb restart :p

It was a Samsung SpinPoint 160gig drive.

and windows didnt bat an eyelid when i removed it. im still know clearer on why windows was calling it a System drive.
