hi!

anyone know how to remove the boot lock on a mk1 clio? My brother has lost his only key for his car, luckily the boot wasn't locked at the time. Planning to remove the lock, and get a locksmith to make up a new key using it.

Had a quick glance at the back of the lock - just wondering if anyone knows how it is meant to come off before i attack it!

Cheers :)

Get a set of lock's from the scrappy. can bit fitted in 45 min's both side, with next to no tool's. odd's on it be cheaper.

both sides, plus boot, plus ignition.. that's not happening in 45mins. it's not my car, i'm not spending ages faffing with it !

You just better hope whoever finds his key doesnt find his car, or else it might just go walkabout. I'd say change the locks, not a particularly hard or expensive job on such a car.

quite the opposite, the valeo lock sets are quite stong. i've had a few new and old that have been screwdrivered too **** and still held.
smash the window and rip off the plastic is your best bet.

it's not locked, so i'm not smashing any windows. I'm also not faffing about changing all the locks! the key was either eaten by the dog, or dropped miles away. All im going to do is take the boot lock off and give it to my brother so he can get a new key made up.
