today as a test i decided to dual boot xp and vista 64 ( for oem registration purposes ) my tests worked :D but now i want rid of xp.
is it possible to loose xp and incorporate the partition into the vista partition to make my hd whole again ?

lol just looked and now im a gangster !!!! 150 posts yeeey

I was unable to get rid of the partition and turn it into one i searched for ages through google but no luck in the end it was just easier to reinstall. If the copies of the operating systems are OEM it wont matter as long as they have not been registered.

There are apps available that will let you edit the boot config of Vista to remove the XP links, then you simply delete the XP files, format the partiton then you can use third party apps to merge the partiotn into your Vista partition, just google ;)
