Yes hammerite :(

We had some numpty painting railings at work the other day with silver hammerite (the smooth kind) and upon washing the car today I've noticed numerous tiny silver spots on the right front wing and bonnet.

The only way I can shift them is by using some tar/bug remover type stuff and rubbing them like mad, the only problem is that my fingers are raw after removing just one spot and there are loads of the little blighters. Anyone got any other ideas on shifting them?

Get a Meguiars clay bar, sold at OcUK. It should do the trick.
Link doesn't work, probably connected to a session-specific cookie on your machine. I'd gladly buy the product if I was sure it would do the job but I can't see how it'd shift something this stubborn tbh.

The clay is a slight abrasive, but is used in conjunction with quick detailer as a lubricant so you dont mar your paintwork, only the particles sticking above the paintwork get 'ground' down.

Thinners :) (seriously)

Aye, that or white spirit since the hammerite wont be properly cured yet. Make sure you wash it all off thoroughly though

So is it the Quick Clay Detailing System stuff that you're on about?

Yeah.

If i had some Hammerite, i would go test it out on my old crapper outside, the renault 19, not a toilet ;)
