Ok guys I have some aerocool sharkfans white led edition that look great but in my opinion they would look better without the leds cos the blades alone are just awesome looking lol

Was wondering if theres an easy ways to disable the LED's, there are 4 in each and tbh I was just gunna cut the wires but would that even be safe ?

anyways how do I go about removing them and bear in mind im not replacing them with any other colour jsut want them disabled

my favourite way of getting rid of LED's is just a pair of needlenose pliers and rip it out - or if it wont come out - just crush it

Get a 9v battery with battery clip and drop the full 9v through each LED in turn, that'll disable them good and proper. Or snip one of the legs on each LED and insulate as required.

Ripping the wiring out will be fine too. Provided the circuit remains open it won't damage anything.

sooooo.... I jsut decided to see if the wies would come off the board easy and yeh just tugged them and they game off no worries.

To save the hassle of tryna get the LED's out now would it be ok to just snip the wire from the top of them seeing as they are no longer connected to the board ?

EDIT: there are 2 leds that elft little bits of there wire still attached to the solder, I assume id be able to use something to yank them off or could I just leave them ?

I left them, powered it up and all is good, i just took the whole wire off but one of them was sodlered onto the same part as a fan power but not directly onto it.

Seemed to work ok so I hope its good to go
