Removing scratches from perspex??

^^ smart ;)

TBH I would not recommend glass, because if you want it the same shape as the standard 900 window then that will be a right nightmare to get it cut and of course the fact that it can be very easy to break
See if you can remove the Perspex and get a company to cut you a new piece to the same shape as the old one, that you’re best bet,

And I was thinking of getting like a different colour Perspex window cut out for mine but I am not too sure on it

I was going to take out the perspex cos its only screwed in, and take it somewhere to get it cut with the screw holes. Cos there a few places by me that you can have glass cut and made to measure. It should only cost me £10 - 20 mum says.

Is there any other material I can get besides glass that wont scratch?

I wasnt going to show you a pic of it cos it looks terrible, I cant believe thats done that just by cleaning the stupud thing, but thats the prob, when you get something new you kind of clean it loads, or I do anyway.

Before (note the deep scratches) :

During (2500 wet and dry)

After - frosted due to 'sanding'.

Finish - After using Brasso (the scratches you can see are on the work surface and not the top).

The prob is,, what cloth do use to polish the basso off??? cos surely any contact on the perspex will cause statches,, like i used my fiber optical cloth on mine, and look at the mess it made, but i did use kitchen polyrol once, and that was a big mastake and prob caused most of the scratches

This sort of thing is a major problem for car detailers as well.
Any contact with a surface that has a glossy paint (clearcoat) is going to leave spiderwebbing, swirl marks, micro marring, whatever you want to call it. It's unavoidable. Good quality micro fibres can mimimise it but not stop it. And you have to use straight lines when cleaning not the waxon-waxoff method as circular marks show up from all angles under light. This is all thanks to the crappy waterpaints, and clearcoats that are used. I'm sure it's something similar on the finish on acrylic. That's why I wouldn't have a case with a window, or even something with shiny plastic, like coolermaster cosmos as the plastic top would get these marks and it would drive me nuts. There is also no way of removing such marks unless you are good with a buffer, like a portacabin or perfect detailing machine or spend like 100 hours using a scratch remover like scratch-x. And that takes some skill on paint to do. Not sure about acryillic. One thing you can try is to fill in the marks with a good polish. On cars, 3m Imperial Hand Glaze, 3m swirl and scratch remover are good. Particularly good is a product called Glare which I used on the front of an Antec Sonata. Filled in the marks semi-permanently. As for Brasso, I think that is too abrasive to be used on anything like a PC case. Come to think of it, Megiars do Mirror Glaze Clear Plastic Cleaner/Polisher. Should be easy to pick up.

If I do replace it with another sheet of perspex, I need to find a diff way of cleaning it. any ideas? The idea I had was hoovering it, but I guess will be worse cos a brush is worse then a cloth or a fiber optical cloth?

Any cleaning with a cloth with dust particles will cause scratches. Best thing would be to run it under a tap to remove, then pat dry. Or a buy a case with metal side panels so you don't care about such things

I am thinking of getting a smoked Perspex or something like that for mine, but not until I find somewhere to put my PC where I won’t scratch the window, cos at the moment I got some fat gouges there from my amp's

It dont look scratched from a distance,, heres my desk layout, How you like the 5.1 speaker setup? Sub in the right corner has nothing todo with the sound system, my shredder just sits on top of it. The logitech z680 sub is in the left corner. As you can sen Ive down away with all the leds on the case, cos its in my bedroom and I sometimes leave the pc on over night and I cant be doing with any lights. Its a pity that the motherboard has lights..dammit.lol
