yeah, random question i know, but my favourite coffee cup is white and has become a bit stained over time. anyone got any tips for getting rid of them without damaging the cup?

i didnt wash my white coffee cup for nearly a year and it just wiped off, believe me it was disgusting really.....

yeah thought about that but didnt want to risk damaging the cup.

ive given it some elbow grease and the stains are mostly gone (after about 15 minutes scrubbing!), but there's still a dark patch at the bottom i want to get rid of. guess it will probably go after a few more scrubbing sessions. was just being lazy and wondering if anyone new an easy way to get rid of them. :D

Well if the cup is clean, surely a little dark patch won't kill you  :p

no it wont kill me, but its a bit embarrasing if someone else uses it and when they finish their coffee they think ive given them a cup that hasnt been cleaned. :/

Steep it in lemon juice with warm water then rinse it out, this usually works for stains on dishes, according to my mum, haven't tried it myself though. :)

Bleach and salt in scalding hot water. Swill the mugs about in that solution. 30 minutes later, or when the water has cooled down, get stuck in with a scourer and scrub the remaining stains off.

Be sure to rinse the cups when your done. ;)
