Removing Thermal Compound

Nail polish remover etc should be avoided due to impurities being left as not all of it will evaporate from the surface, use either the akasa TIM cleaner posted above. Bought my self a bottle a while ago and it'll last forever, or go to your local chemist and grab a bottle of Isopropyl Alcohol. My local did a half litre bottle for £8 but I went for the Akasa stuff instead

Do these look ok?

If you're re-applying the same TM, I would be inclined not to use anything more than dry paper towel. If you use a liquid cleaner you'll remove the TM that is ingrained in the microscopic structure in the surface of the contact faces.

I use Akasa cleaner, which has already been linked and a cotton duster to clean the paste off. Then I use a paper towel, kitchen or toilet to dry it. If I get to the edges of what I'm cleaning then I use a cotton bud to scrape the edges.

I use Arctic Silver ArctiClean Thermal Material Remover then Arctic Silver Surface Purifier as surface preparation can’t remember where I got both from but it was only £5.99. I use lint-free clothes from a 99p shop.
