Removing thermal paste

Just bought this https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BU-096-TL with a load of other stuff.

Im getting ready to put it together but it comes with a thermal paste patch already on it. http://i.imgur.com/ZRXWj62.jpg

Since the bundle comes with thermal paste Id rather use that.

Best way to remove the patch anyone?

q-tip / earbuds , these are great for it. Along with an old debit card

I bought some of that Akasa TIM remover about 8-10 years ago, loads of it left.

Nail polisher remover works well too.

if you dont have any proper cleaning stuff (iso alcohol, acetone etc), then leaving the pre-applied paste on would be the way to go.

My housemate had some alcohol hand sanitizer which did the job beautifully with some loo-roll.

The little lemon fresh wipes from KFC are alcohol based, they are perfect for the job. Pinch a load next time you have chicken... :-)

I combine it with vodka if it is a bit cakey, or brake cleaner if it is baked on...

I bought some of this in 2012 sometime, replacing thermal paste every few months and I'm just about to run out of the remover. Definitely good value for the money.

I use it with toilet roll as well

Get isopropanol wipes
