I am still looking for you it seems mac os x doesn't support ext2/3 natively you have to use some 'unstable' drivers, I cant suggest much more than working out how to mount an ext2/3 file system however I might be looking in the wrong direction and I don't see why you would need to be able to mount the partition to do this. another option to look at is diskutil in the terminal type that then it will give you a list of options. I think perhaps eraseVolume or eraseDisk might help. Although you would need to back up your data as you don't want any mistakes. Then it refers to mount point I think it means what is inside /Volumes on your mac os x system which you can get to in the terminal or in finder by pressing Apple + Shift + G.
