Renault Alpine GTA V6 how much!?

Now I absolutely love those cars, but the reason they are so cheap is because they cost a fortune to run, aren't particularly reliable and use the PRV engine which I personally think is a bit of a dog.

Still if you are only planning on using it on weekends none of that is a problem, as long as you can afford to keep it running. But if you plan to drive it daily, or expect to arrive places in it without it breaking down / without planting it in the side of a tree then it probably isn't the car for you.

This was on t'bay a short while ago...Love those rims.

I'd look at £6-8k for a good car.

Love them!

There were a load of these at Donington for the World Series event from the owners club. It's likely so cheap because a) it's got 125k on the clock b) it's not a Turbo. Also bear in mind it's a French car with all the interesting bits associated with it and it's made of plastic. If I was feeling uncharitable I'd call it a high mileage French kit car with a Volvo 760 engine in it. Then again, I really do quite fancy a Turbo ... just can't put my finger on the reason.

Kiddie seats - what you gonna attach them to - the engine mounts?

About the right price.

A few more in one of the clubs' sites..... http://www.renaultalpineownersclub.com/Cars For Sale.htm

Best value for money - even better in the A610 for sale in Guernsey !!!
A car that was faster and handled better than the 911.
Just sold through Renault so badge didn't carry enough kudos :(

Wigton motor club has a GTA run in the sprint/hillclimb series and gets regular class wins -- was in the lead for the season championship too. See it at ....

Like all 70s/80s cars, getting a bit long in the tooth, so get expert guidance from club for advice :)

PS: The engine is Douvrin designed shared block with Volvo. NOT a "Volvo engine" :)
PPS: Kiddie seats ? NO PROBLEM !!!! That's about all the rear seats are useful for. Calling it a 2+2 or 4 seater was pushing it a little. I've had 2 adults in *** bag for short journey and it was comfortable, just a bit claustrophibic :D

One of our neighbours used to have one of these years ago and they do look good but I think you need to be in love with one to buy it now after all this time.

Everyone keeps saying cheap, if thats cheap then they are overvalued. Maybe because not many were made in the first place. You could easily buy better with that much money if you went for something more conventional.

Only buy this car if it has to be this car and nothing else will do imo

always wanted the old school a110 alpine, but at the same price as a classic 911, no chance.
the newer ones are supposed to cost a bomb to keep going.

Comparable performance to a 912 though...And more exclusive.

My dad has had two of these!

I simply love them! Quick, and great fun. Only problem is reliability. Electrical problems plagued both of my dad's cars (non turbo and turbo!)

The ones my Father had has "A" badges on them, no know ever know what they were, and people were always looking and asking what it was :p

For sheer oddity value, they rock!

The power of the 2.5 litre turbo was amazing :D I have fond memories of being pushed back into the bucket type seats :)
