Renault to supply Williams with engines?

I don't think so. If they have Renault engines, their team name would be Williams Renault at the least. I doubt Jaguar would want to stick their name on it aswell, and have 2 car makers in the team name. TATA might still invest and use another brand though.

I think you mis-understand me :D

Jaguar as engine supplier...

Williams-Jaguar effectively. The two companies are talking, we know this as they have linked up with the road car project.

I think you might have missunderstood the topic of this thread. This is a thread about Renault supplying Williams with engines. Yes Jag and Williams are linked for the Jag road cars, but unless TATA are going to start building their own F1 engines (which I highly doubt), they will not be supplying the Williams F1 team with them.

Therefore, any TATA involvement with Williams will be as a sponsor. And as the usual trend is for an F1 team to be called <sponsor> <team name> <engine> I highly doubt Jaguar Williams Renault would happen.

No, I get it, but i think Jaguar are another option...

Highly doubt...

ok :)

With Mercedes still in F1, and BMW gone, there is room for another prestige name. When it comes to F1 Jaguar have history, and they got screwed over by Ford. Williams are a decent potiental long term partner.
Tata make a lot smaller engines, and could well have an interest in the technology of a smaller F1 engine. They also are already interested in Williams Kers technology which they develop separate to the F1 units.
Williams, are already developing more and more technology inhouse, look at the gearbox this year. Developing a Gearbox/engine combo to sell to other teams might well be cost effective and help with their long term finances.
