I've been taking my mum's Twingo out for runs as it's not being used much and noticed that the boot wont open via the keyfob with the engine running.

Is this standard on this car? Seems a bit of a faff. I can't find a physical button on the exterior to open it either.

Sounds pretty standard practice. Normally if there is no external release there would be a button inside but I have no idea if that is the case with the Twingo.

IIRC if the engine is running you're normally expected to be doing the unlock for the external handles via the button on the dash with most cars, as that is normally much easier to do than hit the button on the key fob.
I suspect there is also some logic behind it, such as if you're in the car with the engine running, the people inside the car should be deciding if the doors can be opened from the outside.

edit. I think I've only tried to open the doors/boot on my car with the keyfob whilst the engine is running a couple of times.
