hello.

im trying to find what would be suitable for an animation rendering set up. i currently have 2gb geil UL pc 6400. however i cant fit any more on the mobo (4x512mb).

do any animators or 3d renderers here feel that having a lot more ram, say over 4gb of pc5300, is better for this situation than 2gb of fast ram?

Thankyou

rest of set up:
E6600 @ 3.4ghz
P5NE- SLI
8800 GTS 600/1800

4Gb of PC5300 > 2Gb of PC6400 for rendering all other things being equal, however you may have some issues with your overclocked E6600 by moving to PC5300 RAM.

there is a setting in my bios which allows you to set the timings for the cpu and memory seperate.

also, would anyone know what the density of the p5ne-sli can take? (650i)
and would a 1 x 2gb stick work in the slots? (going to buy 4)
