I used to be quite knowledgeable about current hardware, but a few years down the line and I'm way out of my depth - there's just too much choice!

Basically I need to upgrade my current PC, the primary use of which is video rendering, so CPU and memory intensive.

I need all the base components: CPU, mobo, memory, PSU and graphics card(s). Also interested in getting a quicker HDD for the OS.

Although not an immediate necessity, any advice on a non-expensive case that's good for containing quite a few hard drives and staying cool 'n quiet would be great.

Budget is around £400-500, although obviously cheaper the better! :)

Something like this any use.? :) I would assume the onboard graphics would be more than enough.

Thanks for the help - the CPU and motherboard are similar to what I'd picked so that's good.

In terms of graphics, onboard probably is fine, and if not I can always upgrade at a later date. I actually use my laptop for playing games (L4D etc) as it's better than my current PC...
