Renewing AA with Quidco

I usually swap between RAC and AA through Quidco every year, seems to be the best way to do it.

Seems a lot of hassle when you can just pay AXA, Green flag etc etc £40 for the same service off the bat.

It would seem Green Flag's pricing is far from fixed.

Just got a quote and their 'from £60' recovery plus package would end up costing me over £120.

But then I am probably a fairly high risk, since my car is 21 years old and can probably only be recovered on a flatbed.

I have exactly the same situation each year... best thing to do is when you get the renewal, phone up and say... I can get RAC same cover (if not more) for £X and thats why im leaving.

AA always match it for me, last renewal I got a silver membership, home start package was something like 150 quid anyway... paid 75.

I mean cashback as mentioned sometimes dosent come through and if you can stay with what you know, then I just go with it.

Quick update. Doing well with AA at the moment. Received a cheque of £158.80 (£193.80 minus £35 excess) from the AA about 3 weeks ago for the cost of the replacement alternator + labour inc VAT under the old parts and garage cover I had. And today, received this for joining the AA as a 'new' member

Not much of a recommendation then really is it. They might be cheap for a reason.
