Renting for the first time.

No, we spend about £50 a week on food between us, we eat well but nothing stupid, Transport costs us £250 a month between us

So you're including your entire list of outgoings rather than just the house bills? I think that is what has caused the confusion ;)

Mine are

Rent - 750/PCM
Council - 120ish/PCM
Elec - 45/month
Gas - none
Landline - 12
Internet - 13

Thats me on my own, haven't included food costs as they will vary.

Yeah I guess, I just asked the girlfriend "What do we pay out on bills each month?" she said £1400-£1500 so I replied with that, I didn't question it as she sorts out what gets paid and when I just earn it :p

Good job moving out i've just done it to leeds from down south with friends best decision you'll ever make! I wish i'd done it sooner (im 23 never moved out for uni etc)

Have you noticed an influx in the amount of new clothes she has been getting recently?!

When you do viewings ask the current tenants what they pay.

Find out the council tax band.

Things to take into consideration:

- Council Tax
- Contents insurance
- Gas / Electricity / Water
- Tv Licence
- Broadband
- Telephone line rental
- Any TV packages
- Rent
- communal bills (if you need to buy anything for the flat)

Remember it's being split 3-ways. You don't have to spend much on gas and electricity if you're sensible.

Council tax is unavoidable but between 3 it should be fairly affordable.
