Renting - Letting Agent Fees - Advice On Haggling

Thanks for the advice guys it sounds like Rugby is the best of a bad lot for this area, Leamington and Warwick are lovely and too too pricey.

Re the fee's, as scratch just said if you dont ask you dont get but dont hold you breath. I paid zero admin fee's in Scotland so thats a good bartering point lol.

BDEE i agree they are scumbags, they charge a fortune for doing nothing. Also one i dealt with, broke things after i handed over the keys, then deducted repair costs off my deposit, they ripped me off by a few hundred quid. 'deposit scotland' who is supposed to deal more fairly with the deposits, still went in favour of the lying scumbag letting agents, after all they had before and after pics. I really had a serious bee in my bonnet, i was fantasying of doing all sort of nasty things to them, it took months before the hatred went went away.

I applied for this house in Sharnford. I could not find what i was looking for in the likes of Rugby, this house cropped up 12 miles from the outskirts of Coventry. In a town called Sharnford. Its about 20 minutes to work if i use the motorway. It looks better in the flesh, its a really old house but has been fully renovated inside ie modern boiler and heating system, bathroom and decor is modern and clean. £750 a month and its detached, away from the main road, £70 reference fee and a £150 move in fee, i haggled but got nowhere with the fee's or the rent but they are reasonable anyway.
