Repairing a tooth

find a decent NHS dentist

Do they do as good a job as a private dentist? I've been going to this private dentist for a few years on recommendation from my mum, and he really is very gentle, sessions are painless. I'm always worried that NHS dentists will be rough handed and whether they'll fit the crown to the same level of skill as a private dentist.

had my tooth done today,

it was filled a while back and fell apart leaving the inside edge and a spike on the outside edge intact but nothing else.. I expected lots of pain, injections and expense..

took them 9 mins and cost 17.50! the dentist (who has nice boobs) just made a new tooth from cream coloured dentist stuff...

Do they do as good a job as a private dentist? .

A lot are, I used a NHS dentist for last 25 years and he was awesome, I only use a private one now as it's the same bloke and he's too old to work for NHS ( he's 70 ish ) even then his prices are hardly any different to NHS dentist

I do miss my Female dentist :( she had rather nice breasts! Pressed against your head they were even better :D

MY teeth are shockingly poor, and not for the lack of brushing and care either, I have a filling in every molar bar one as it was pulled years ago, three caps on the upper front and two on the lower! If i had been to a private dentist it would have all set me back the best part of £10k!!!!

I find that my private dentist is better than the previous NHS one i had. No messing about, does the job pain-free and really explains what he is doing. He even shown me the exact work he done via a mirror and x-rays etc

I know i pay slightly more than i could, however i am happy with what i pay for the service i get.

I find this all depends on your dentist, I've had both NHS and Private over the last 30 years and can honestly say they are about the same! Most of my local NHS dentists are also private practices.

A lot of the time it's exactly the same person doing the work.

Agreed! Same for consultants in hospitals etc

However, like i said as long as you ar ehappy with any service you get, for the price you pay, then that is good value :)

Exactly, if you're happy with the service you get for the price you pay and can afford it then why change.
Your health is one of those things it's worth splashing out on, as a bad job can make life a real misery.
