So my Creative SoundBlaster Titanium is driving crazy with Creatives lack of Win 8.1 support for apps and drivers etc. If I was to replace it (core i7/AMD 7970s, Win8.1 etc) what would be the best bet suggestion?

Sound set up at the moment is stereo out to Topping TP21 amp running 2 x bookshelf speakers and TOS optical out going via Astro Mixamp to DT-770 pro 80Ohms. I have both plugged in and just switch the appropriate amp on depending if I'm using speakers or headphones.

Any ideas?

As above, SB Z OEM would be a good replacement. I have the same T amp. Glad to see you are not using the headphone out on it, which is pants. :)

Yeah, unfortunately I discovered that too late so had to add the mixamp which is a bit of a pain but heho. Is the software support from Creative any better for the Z, they've been somewhat pants for driver and app support for as long as I can remember in general :( How do Xonar compare?

Taken the recommendation of a SB Z despite my feelings about Creatives software support as it seems to get great reviews - will let you know how I get on, I'm hoping the onboard headphone amp will mean I can take the Astro mixamp out of the loop to simplify things. Thanks chaps!

SB Zx arrived and so far so impressed. Certainly seems to have a much richer sound than the Titanium and as a bonus, drivers & apps that work :)
