Replaced 2nd Hard drive but how do I install it ?

Hi, strange one this.

Right I have 2 HD's, one a raptor 74gb which is fine, has my OS (Xp Pro) on etc.

Then I have a 2nd Hard Drive (Samsung Spinpoint 250GB) for Music, videos etc.

okay, the samsung one has been RMA and I received the replacement this morning. Just installed it (exactly the same) Sata. It is picked up in Bios, picked up in Disk Management, Everest etc.

But How do I use it. I cannot access it, It does not show up in My Computer. Im sure when I had the 1st one 9 months ago I just installed it and it worked fine.

How do I get it to show up in My computer and to use it. Do I have to do something in Disk Management ?

If I go into Disk Management.
It says

You're nearly there.

Pop back into disk management and right click on the big Unallocated strip then pick "New Partition". In the dialogue that pops up make sure all the parameters look sensible, give it a volumen name it you want, check the "Quick Format" box and hit OK. It should then chunter for 10-15s or so and hey presto the disk should be available with a drive letter.

You can at this point swap drive letters with the DVD if you need to or you can just crack on and start putting stuff back onto it through My Computer.
